Puttur: State home minister, Dr G Parameshwar, announced that he would be meeting the educational expenses of Divit Rai till degree, as he is impressed by the boy’s effort to retain the school teachers.
It may be recalled that Divit, who is the home minister of Students Union of Haradi school had sent message to the state home minister on cell phone and succeeded in stopping the transfer of teachers from the school a few months ago
The minister was speaking after inaugurating the Hemanta Sambhrama organized at Harady government model school on Thursday, January 12.
He also announced to donate Rs 10 lakh from his grant from legislative assembly membership.
He commended the school for having a powerful home minister in the school cabinet.
“Transfer is common in all systems. We cannot make changes in department system. But I still in managed to fulfill the promise I made to Divit by ordering education minister, not to transfer the teachers”, he said.
MLA Shakunthala Shetty presided over the program. MLA J R Lobo inaugurated the Boluvaru Madhava Nayak memorial library. District municipal education standing committee president Shahul Hameed K inaugurated the art exhibition and Smart Class.
District municipal Agriculture and Industrial committee president Sarvotham Gowda, members Anita Hemanath Shetty, PP Vargheese, town municipal corporation president Jayanti Baland and others were present.
