Mangaluru Feb 29, 2016: Media Co-Convenor of National BJP Yuva Morcha Nupur Sharma has strongly condemned the Congress for its stand on the JNU controversy.
Speaking at a programme “Quit India March” organised by Rashtriya Jagrathi Samithi at Town Hall on Feb 29 Monday, she pointed out that the JNU issue was painful and cannot be accepted. “If over Rs 210 crores is spent every year in providing subsidized education for the JNU students they are supporting a separtist leader like Afzal Guru,” she said. She was also critical of Rahul Gandhi for his support to the JNU students despite knowng that Afzal was hanged during the Congress rule.
She even condemned the role of the media in the JNU issue and alleged that it had prioritized support of anti national students.
Pointing out to Chethan Bhagat’s quote regarding JNU “Couple of Kids Protesting, No Big deal,” retired Brigadier Ivan Rai said that “Traitors like you (Chethan Bhagath) are destroying the culture of the nation.”
“Who funded this programme in the university? Who printed the handbills? Who stepped in with the mask during the protest? And for how many years these jokers are getting these scholarships?, Vice Chancellor needs to answer,” Ivan Rai said.
Sri Krishna Upadhayaya said this is not the first time where JNU students were involved in an anti national protest. “During the year 2010 when 75 CRPF men were brutally killed by Naxals, JNU stood in support of the latter and distributed sweets. Traitors who cry out anti-national slogans need to Quit India,” he said.
Siachen Martyr Nagesh’s wife Asha SM said that, we need to fight for our country and every citizen, children should enrol in the army and serve for the country.
Prior to the Programme there was “Quit India March” from PVS Circle to Townhall where students, ABVP and Rashritya Jagrathi Samithi members participated in large numbers.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad handed over a compensation cheque to Asha SM, wife of Saichen Martyr Nagesh.
Bolar Chittaranjan Shetty, M.B. Puranik, Sunil Acharya, Kishore Shetty and Bharath Shetty were present among others.
